Are you sick of hiding your smile? Straight teeth may make a powerful first impression, but few adults want to commit to a mouthful of metal braces. Today, there’s an alternative that will provide you with a beautiful smile without messing with your mouth in the meantime.

At Austin Dental Care, we are a leading provider of Invisalign dental services, and our team will work to give you the smile you have been seeking in a matter of months.

What Is Invisalign?

Put simply, Invisalign is an almost undetectable way to straighten your teeth. The process involves sets of clear, custom-made teeth aligners that fit snuggly over your teeth, subtly moving and rotating them into their proper position over several months of near-constant wear.

After 10-14 days of wearing your first aligner set, we will provide you with a new set that shifts your teeth a little more, and continue this process throughout your entire treatment. Over time, your teeth will gradually align into a straight smile you can wear with pride.

The Benefits of Invisalign

Using Invisalign is a simple process, and the system is often just as effective as braces for straightening your smile. For those without underlying teeth issues who are just seeking cosmetic improvements, Invisalign is a smart solution. However, if you have severe problems with your teeth, traditional braces may be the better option.

When you use Invisalign, you can:

Eat like normal: the transparent guard is easy to remove for meals

Easily brush your teeth: unlike braces, Invisalign is not made with wires that get in the way

Talk without speech impediments: Invisalign is smooth and unobtrusive, meaning you can speak like normal while using it.

Smile without self-consciousness: only you will know you are even wearing them.

What Dental Problems Can Invisalign Solve?

When you commit to the process, Invisalign will give you a straighter smile in a matter of months. Below are some of the tooth problems that we recommend using Invisalign to treat.

Gapped Teeth: Gaps are caused by excessive growth in the jawbone, as well as missing teeth or teeth that have shifted out of their natural position. In the long run, these gaps can lead to gum problems because they allow pockets of bacteria to fester into disease.

Overbite: When your upper teeth stick out too far over the lower ones, you have an overbite. When not addressed, this can lead to gum problems, irritation and too much wear on your lower teeth.

Underbite: Like an overbite, an underbite is caused by lower teeth that extend out farther than the upper teeth. Not only can it cause painful jaw problems, but it also leads to over-wear on your teeth.

Open Bite: You have an open bite when your teeth cannot contact each other due to a variety of reasons. This makes chewing painful and can lead to speech impairments.

Overly Crowded: A lack of space in your jaw will cramp your teeth, causing problems for eating and leave your smile less than stunning. Invisalign can spread out your teeth and straighten them in the process for a better smile.

What Is it Like to Try Invisalign?

Using Invisalign is a simple process, and our Austin Dental Care Team is here to help you every step of the way.

Your First Consultation

When you come in for an appointment, we will assess your smile to see if Invisalign is the right treatment option for you, or whether more traditional braces are a better fit instead.

Your Custom Treatment Plan

From there, we will use a digital scanner to create precise 3D images of your teeth to map out a treatment plan for how your teeth should move. We will even let you preview how your smile will look!

Getting You Invisalign Aligners

Once the plan is in place, we will make you your first custom-made aligners. So long as you wear them for 20 to 22 hours a day, your teeth will start to shift.

Charting Your progress:
Every month, we will provide a new set of aligners for you to wear, and we will suggest coming in for checkups every few weeks to chart your progress. You will start to see improvement in your smile immediately and watch it progress every week!

What Our Patients Say

Dr. Wainwright is a very talented dentist with a great staff! The practice is very accommodating and helpful. Dr. Wainwright works with the patient's needs and wants. The first question that they ask is ... What do you want us to do for you? What is your goal concerning your smile and teeth? I love this group of professionals.

I met Dr. Wainwright in 2002 when I had to do major dental work and was extremely afraid of dentists from previous experiences.  Everyone at Dr. Wainwright's office was so kind and welcoming from the beginning. He offers sedation dentistry which is what brought me in.  He was able to undo and repair years worth of work in a few sessions with sedation dentistry.  The best part is you come to without the knowledge of all the procedure you just went through.Because of my great experience with him so long ago, I've maintained regular maintenance and have Kristi, my personal hygienist, to thank for that.  She is the best and I always enjoy my cleaning with her.  I've had a few normal issues throughout the years since my major dental work and they were always detected so early and taken care of so fast that they never became an issue.I'm so glad I came across Dr. Wainwright so long ago.  I love to tell people how much I love my dentist and see their unbelieving faces...but I do!  The whole team is amazing.

Dr. Wainwright and his staff are wonderful, caring, happy people! Over the past 2 years, I’ve had a few procedures done and have been comfortable and happy every time. Dr. Wainwright has had to replace faulty work done by my previous dentist, making me wish I found Austin Dental Care so much sooner! I love the laid-back, friendly staff who always take the time to make sure the patient is comfortable and at ease. Couldn’t recommend this office more highly.

I have had major dental needs over the past two years and I couldn't have been luckier to find Dr. Wainwright and his staff! They are so accommodating, friendly and professional. With all of the work I have had done on my teeth over the years, I can sincerely say I have never had a better experience in my life for dental care. From the ladies at reception to the ladies in the back helping and up to Dr. Wainwright, this is a top-notch operation and I am blessed to have found them!

Dr. Wainwright's office is immaculate and very warm and inviting. His staff was also cheerful, friendly and helpful. He spent a lot of time explaining his approach to treatment and dental care to my son (and to me as well). He asked my son if he had any questions about our treatment plan and talked to him in a kind and direct manner. Dr. Wainwright is also very knowledgeable re: advancements in dental care procedures and techniques which is helpful as it gives my son (and our family) various treatment options. His staff was informative and clear about fees associated w/ treatment and let us know up front how much our treatment would cost. My kids were surprised with a little treat on the way out of the office which they LOVED.

Glen Wainwright and his staff are highly competent professionals. Relaxing and always immaculately clean office environment. Glen is thorough in his assessments. He always values my feedback, as it is an essential aspect to ensuring positive experiences and outcomes. I can't enough about the staff hygienists! Kristy, takes care of my regular cleanings. She is consistently methodical in her cleaning process. Her personality is gentle and compassionate. Her experiential knowledge of her craft, and concern for the well-being of my dental health is always on display.
